Jams for the Spring

Image
I'm back and giving people the music they need.  It's been a while so there are a lot of songs that you may have slipped under your radar. Lie of a Mack- 100s I was put onto 100s by a friend and he has quickly become one of my favorite new rappers.  100s is 19 years old with straight hair down to his waist.  He sounds like a combination of Too Short and Wiz to me.  You may have heard the song above while playing the new GTA.  If you like the song above you can buy his album on iTunes or download his mixtape here . Sanctified- Rick Ross ft Kanye West and Big Sean Coming off the recent album Mastermind by Rick Ross this song features Big Sean and Kanye West over a simple beat with what sounds like a gospel sample.  It's interesting to hear three of the biggest rappers on a song with little bass for most of the song and basically rapping over a metronome.  There are a couple great lines from Kanye in this track "ME TOO Aggress...

Fall Jams 2013

Image
What's going on people?  It may be getting colder but the beats are still hot.  I apologize for the late blog I will be attempting to post more frequently. With a plethora of highly anticipated albums dropping this summer the fall hasn't had much hype.  That's where I come in.  There are tons of jams that may have slipped under your radar and I will put you on game. Show Me- Kid Ink ft. Chris Brown This catchy love ballad will stay in your head all day.  Chris Brown makes the song with the fire of a hook. Paranoid- Ty Dolla $ign ft. B.o.B I don't know much about Ty Dolla $ign but I checked out his mix tape Beach House 2 and it's has some great songs.  This has to be the highlight of the project.  The song is about the struggles of being involved with two women at once.  The erie video is pretty entertaining with the women turning into evil monsters. Hells Kitchen- J. Cole ft. Bas Clearly the best song ...

My First Time Hearing a Song by Drake

Image
No matter what you opinion of Drake is it's impossible to talk hip hop and not mention Drake's name.  At the age of 26 Drake has already won a grammy and created multiple songs that have become anthems.  His music has transcended genres and has taken over pop culture.  We all know Drake started from Degrassi now he's here, but I had a flashback the other day recalling the first time I heard him rap. It was 2008 spring of my junior year in high school and on MySpace (throwback) I saw a new song called Ransom from Lil Wayne featuring some guy named Drake.  To remind you this was when Lil Wayne was in his absolute prime and anything he touched sounded amazing.   I hear the song and hear Drake open the song with talking about smoking.  I ended up digging the song and doing some research on this guy.  I ended up downloading his mix tape called Heartbreak Drake you can get here .   It's crazy to think about how over 4 ye...

New Jams for Summer 2013

Image
I am sorry for the long delay but Dj Blufire is back.  It has been a beautiful summer and I have been enjoying myself I hope you all have been too. This has been a HUGE summer for hip hop.  There have been multiple big album releases everyone from Jay-Z to J. Cole and Kanye.  There has also been some under the radar songs and mixtapes released. In this blog I will run through some of my favorite songs so far this summer.  What new music have you been jamming to this summer? Let me know in the comment section. Crown- Jay-Z A great beat and a diss to super sports agent Scott Boras what's not to like? Fuckwithmeyouknowigotit- Jay-Z ft. Rick Ross I didn't expect Rick Ross to be on Jay-Z's new album MCHG but it made my favorite song on the album. When I Feel Like It- Fabolous ft. 2 Chainz I blog, when I feel like it! Been On- Chantel West Coast ft. French Montana When I first found out this was blonde girl who is on tho...

Jams of the Week for May 6

Image
Here are the jams of the week for May 6th. Panera Bread- Rockie Fresh feat. Rick Ross For some reason I doubt you'll see Rick Ross getting a bread bowl anytime soon... Rockie Fresh is a relatively unknown member of Maybach Music.  In this song he collaborates with the boss man, Rick Ross.  The song has a beat with hard bass that'll have you shaking your head.  Both Ross and Rockie Fresh have solid verses.  This is definitely a must listen. You can listen to or download the song along with the rest of Rockie Fresh's new mixtape The Birthday Tape  here . Chris Tucker- J. Cole feat. 2 Chainz Dang... J. Cole and 2 Chainz definitely went in on this track.  This song was released on J. Cole's recently released mixtape Truly Yours 2.  J. Cole has some wild  metaphors on this song.  Even the track title is a metaphor (J. Cole is referencing that Chris Tucker was in the movie Money Talks). You can listen to or download ...
