Same Girl- An Investigative Look




In late 2009 Usher and R Kelly released one of the greatest storytelling songs of the century called Same Girl. The song details the two's conversation describing a new romance. After telling each other about their new love interest they start to realize they have been "messing with the same girl". However according to the music video, they aren't dating the same woman... they're each dating a twin! Let's look at the lyrics to see how this was possible.

Below is what we know about their love interest and how likely it is that these twins could both hold these characteristics or traits.

She's 5'4
-It's very likely that twins would be the same height

Curvy figure
-They both may have a similar figure

Drives a black Durango
-Seems a little unlikely but maybe they got a good deal at the dealership

License plate says Angel
-Unless they share a car this is illegal

Tatoo on her ankle
-Matching tattoos between twin sisters are possible

She is financially stable
-They both may be "getting pesos" as R Kelly put it

Her house is on Peachtree
-Looks like they're roomates

She has a kid
-Both woman may have children.

Loves Waffle House
-Most people love Waffle House

Has a beauty mark on the left side or her mouth
-Seems unlikely but I guess they are twins

Went to Georgia Tech
-Makes sense if they went to school together

Works for TBS
-Ok... a little but of a small world

Usher met her in Atlanta
-Usher reps the a-town and she's from there

R Kelly met her in Chicago
-Maybe one of the twins were traveling

Both women were single when they met Usher/R Kelly
-Makes sense at the end now that we know they are twins


R Kelly claims to have seen this mystery woman with both a pink and blue phone but the blue one which Usher claims has one of his songs as the ringtone was turned off when she was with R Kelly.
-This is where is gets really confusing...


In conclusion, do you think Usher and R Kelly should have realized that their new love interest had a twin?

It seems highly unlikely that Usher/R Kelly would have found their potential wife and the apple of their eye without learning about the woman's family. I think it's reasonable to assume that after a few dates you would know whether or not your love interest had a twin or siblings.

What's better I Need a Girl Part 1 or Part 2?

In the year 2001 P Diddy released the two-part song I Need a Girl. Both songs have a clear distinct sound while being equally fire. Below I will do my best to articulate what separates the two parts of I Need a Girl and which is better. Part 1 P Diddy featuring Usher and Loon A slow pure r&b track with very little bass. Usher kills this song, he even sings over himself in the chorus. Part 2  P. Diddy featuring Loon, Ginuwine & Mario Winans For all you young kids out there this is what a true remix or part two looks like. Using the same theme/melody but flipping it to creating a new song. This part features more an of a hip hop vibe with verses and an r&B chorus. Who can forget Diddy's classic "take that, take that" What part of I Need a Girl is better? Drake's Hidden Gems

Aubrey Grahm aka Drizzy aka October's Very Own aka Drake is no doubt a superstar. He has transitioned from child actor to a rapper on Lil Wayne's Young Money label to an icon. His music has become anthems for months and he recently hosted SNL. With this level of popularity, it's hard to imagine his music being anything close to hidden but there are a lot of great songs from Drake you may have missed. I remember listening to Ransom feat.
