Who's the best Rapper on YMCMB? Not Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, or Drake. Who?




Despite all the hype surrounding Drake, Nicki and Lil Wayne currently they are no longer the best rappers on their label.

While Drake is a great song writer and creates great melodies he's not the best rapper.

Nicki Minaj has lost a bunch of credibility by deciding to be as pop as Flo Rida with songs like Starships.  Starships is a bunch of techno garbage I would expect from someone like Tiao Cruz.  It's a far cry from the origins of cash money aka young money.  Nicki showed great promise with her first album with songs like Shittin on Em and Roman's Revenge.  This new album half of the songs are either techno or a ballad not the hard asylum bars she was spittin' that we loved.



Lil Wayne aka the President hasn't been the same since jail and lost it. Anyone who's been listening to Lil Wayne since the Drought and Dedication days could tell you back then whenever Lil Wayne was on any track it was going to be something special.  Even with his mixtape No Ceilings it doesn't feel the same as when he dropped the Drought 3 and Dedication 2. 





The two current best rappers on Young Money are Bow Wow and Tyga.


Bow Wow for those who don't know has been coming out with quality mixtapes recently and it if you don't know get moving!  The formerly know Lil Bow Wow dropped the mixtape series Greenlight 1-4.  The mixtapes are very polished with everything from love songs to certified bangers to weezy like freestyles.  Bow Wow had an album a couple years ago called New Jack City II which was awful and his last album before he signed with Young Money.  
I'm not sure if Lil Wayne mentored Bow Wow ever since he signed but whatever it is it's been working.  Bow Wow has been spitting hot verses and if you haven't heard his new stuff trust me and you won't be disappointed.

Hopefully Young Money pulls Bow Wow out of hiding sometime soon and we get a studio album so he can return to the spotlight.


Tyga aka Mr Rack City has become popular in his own right with his multiple bangers.  The motto and rack city have taken on lives of their own.  Besides his solid album Careless World Tyga has great mixtapes with bars that will make you say "eww dude". From his mixtape series Well Done to his collaboration mixtape with Chris Brown Fan of a Fan to Black Thoughts Tyga has been putting out a lot of quality music beyond being Mr Rack City.

About five years ago a friend told me to download the Pulto mixtape by Future. I was familiar with him from the couple of singles he had but had never listened to a full mixtape/album of his. What's better I Need a Girl Part 1 or Part 2?

In the year 2001 P Diddy released the two-part song I Need a Girl. Both songs have a clear distinct sound while being equally fire. Below I will do my best to articulate what separates the two parts of I Need a Girl and which is better. Part 1 P Diddy featuring Usher and Loon A slow pure r&b track with very little bass. Usher kills this song, he even sings over himself in the chorus. Part 2  P. Diddy featuring Loon, Ginuwine & Mario Winans For all you young kids out there this is what a true remix or part two looks like. Using the same theme/melody but flipping it to creating a new song. This part features more an of a hip hop vibe with verses and an r&B chorus. Who can forget Diddy's classic "take that, take that" What part of I Need a Girl is better? Drake's Hidden Gems

Aubrey Grahm aka Drizzy aka October's Very Own aka Drake is no doubt a superstar. He has transitioned from child actor to a rapper on Lil Wayne's Young Money label to an icon. His music has become anthems for months and he recently hosted SNL. With this level of popularity, it's hard to imagine his music being anything close to hidden but there are a lot of great songs from Drake you may have missed. I remember listening to Ransom feat. Lil Wayne in my 98 Jetta in 2008 as a Senior in high school via cassette adapter.
